Bailey Schrader
Hi!
My name is Bailey Schrader, I am 25 years old, a graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in Geography, currently working in GIS with dreams of one day joining a research team or doing some form of outdoor environmental education.
I have always loved photography and my family asked me to pursue it at a young age, but I refused to listen to them and I never took a formal photography class. Eventually I landed a job as a photographer doing basic tourism photography and I learned how to work a camera on my own, trial by fire. I moved on and up in the small tourism photography world learning more and working with all kinds of equipment (both Nikon and Cannon). That's when I started to get obsessed and wanted to get my very own DSLR. Eventually my family bought me a small Nikon 3100 as a "I told you so" gift, and life has just gotten better and better from that moment.
I have always had a passion for the outdoors and nature, school has helped me to understand the world physically and environmentally. I want to someday use my education to make a scientific strides in research about the planet and start environmentally friendly changes in our world.
Today I work in Geographic Information Systems but in the past I worked a as a first officer on a tour boat while attending and the San Diego Zoo as a photographer and before that as a assistant park ranger at a State Park. With the opportunities from my past jobs and the freedom to travel that comes with finical stability I get to take my camera around a see some amazing things.
This blog is basically for me to share some the photos I take while living my life and I hope you enjoy the photos I have taken and sometimes share some knowledge about the things I photograph!
